Medicare Advantage do-over period lasts until March 31

From the Colorado Division of Insurance: Consumer Advisory: Medicare Advantage do-over period lasts until March 31 | Department of Regulatory Agencies

Allowed Changes:

  • If you’re in a Medicare Advantage Plan, you can switch to another Medicare Advantage Plan.
  • You can disenroll from your Medicare Advantage Plan and return to Original Medicare. If you choose to do so, you’ll be able to join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (Medicare Part D), but may not be able to enroll in a Medicare Supplement plan (Medigap), so determine your available options before making the switch.

They go on to advise…

Current Colorado Medicare Advantage enrollees who want to take advantage of this opportunity should contact a Colorado SHIP Counselor at 888-696-7213 or call Medicare at 800-633-4227. When calling, these enrollees should have their drug list handy so they can work with a counselor to select coverage that best meets their needs.

Funny the don’t mention contacting your Medicare agent. Strange folks over there at the DOI.
